Title: The Phone Booth
With patience, she stands by the phone booth for the anticipated call with the understanding that it may never come.
The phone booth on the corner of the street does not ring.
Anxiously, with coins in hand, he rushes towards the phone booth to make a call that he knows might not get answered.
The phone booth on the corner of the street does not connect.
Detached, both walk away from the phone booth distraught with reignited grief.

I had an opportunity to follow students at the AIPD Culinary Department’s Chocolate Class. Their final project is to create an edible hexagon-shaped chocolate box filled with personally designed pieces within a 4 hour period. I photographed hour-2 and hour-4 of their process. I loved moving around the action and creating a photographic narrative of the students while witnessing the transformation of chocolate from cocoa bars into beautifully shaped hexagon chocolate boxes.

I had the pleasure of photographing KaiKani Vanity just recently. He was photographed previouslly in my Portrait Series which you can find here. It was a blast! We had a set list of images that we needed to execute for his portfolio which includes modeling, acting and stand-up comedy. The locations ended up becoming spontaeous and photographs we got were as much fun as I had anticipated working with KaiKani. Below is a sneak peek from our awesomely-fun photo shoot!

I had the wonderful opportunity to document a benefit show for the newly launched Portland based non-profit organization by Katelyn Convery called The Lingua Franca Project, in partnership with ABC for Life.
I met founder Katelyn Convery in the summer of 2011 as she was preparing to make the move to Cape Town, South Africa from Portland, Oregon. Katelyn has become deeply involved with a number of non-profit organizations such as ABC for Life utilizing her efforts to promote and support programs in education, literacy, self enrichment and self-development.
As a musician, Katelyn, her brother and close friend performed for the attendees at the Purest Cafe located on SW Ash Street in downtown Portland. All donations are deposited to the Lingua Franca Project and will help provide more space for students and teachers.
Below is a sneak peek photograph from the musical performance. More images to come!
