I have a personal attachment to plants that are considered weeds and described as intrusive. I love how beautiful they are and how complex they become. Even though they get pulled and destroyed, weeds first bloom and spiral up into the sky.
Here is my perspective of all the over grown near by.

Next to the weeds is where I started my first compost pile. I feel empowered to have created my own dirt from the remains of my vegetables. What a wonderful circle to have known. Here is where my future garden will grow.

Today, I had the wonderful opportunity to work with Portland-local Irene L Veldstra, Designer of Something New Creations and Model Jennifer Eastwood. Jennifer gracefully displayed a one piece dress from Irene’s collection in Tanner Springs Park, a restored sustainable wetland, located in the Pearl District (Portland, Oregon).
Irene’s collection includes gowns, two-pieces, and cocktail dresses. All items are hand crafted, one of a kind, and made from recycled material. How awesome right!
I enjoyed working with both ladies on a June summers day. I can’t wait to showcase my fashion spread! Stay tuned!

Pacific Crest Community School has planted a row of Eruca sativa, also known as Arugula, in a vegetable bed on the west facing corner of the campus.
The grounds feature natural cob construction designed in a Native American motif in homage of the indigenous tribes of the Pacific Northwest.
